Thanks to the advocacy of the HDFC Coalition and shareholders, we now have a fantastic bill for HDFCs! The “Jackson-Taylor HDFC Self-determination, Preservation and Affordability Act (S.880/A.2707)” would give HDFCs a permanent tax break (so our co-ops don’t go bankrupt in 2029), keep HDFC apartments affordable for both current residents and new purchasers, protect HDFC property rights and would also renew the tax forgiveness option for HDFCs in tax arrears…but only if you and your neighbors raise your voices to elected officials in Albany and also NYC to let them know that the bill must be passed into law!

Our extremely HDFC-supportive NY State Senator Robert Jackson has introduced bill 2025-S880 in the NY State Senate, and is joined on the Assembly side by NYS Assemblymember Al Taylor with bill 2025-A2707! And we already have our first co-sponsor: NY State Senator Cordell Cleare!
